MadCap Shipment for July

by Kirby on July 20, 2010

MadCap sent out an exciting Brasil this month.  Here are some details…

Chapadão de Ferro, Brasil

Region: Patrocinio, Minas Gerais

Producer: Rualdo DelaRisse

Processing Method: Natural Processed

Altitude: 1,250 meters

Varietals: Mundo Novo and Caturra

Harvested July-September 2009

Chapadão de Ferro translates to “plateau of iron” as the farm is located in the center of an extinct volcano providing soil very rich in iron.  Ruvaldo farms with the help of his wife and children. The rich soil gives lots of clarity to the cup as you can also expect a smooth (but large body), clean flavor, with black cherry on the finish.

If you would like to get in on next months shipment join the club!

I just got a note from Barefoot and they will be sending our customers a relationship coffee from Finca Vista Hermosa this month!  Here are some details on the coffee:

Producer: Edwin Martinez

Varietals: Bourbon

Altitude: 1,650 Meters

Harvest:  May 2009

Region: Huehuetenago

Cupping Notes:
Supremely balanced and sexily smooth. A nice spiciness melts into sweet dry chocolate with really pleasant mouthfeel. Hints of dried peaches and papaya come alive in the middle. Sweet, delicate and big and explosive at once. A taste of pistachio and candy corn with a bit of punch-drunk love.

Finca Vista Hermosa, Farm of the Beautiful View, is the three-generation legacy of coffee lovers who have poured their hearts into the rich land of Guatemala. Edwin Martinez practices sustainable farming and produces some of the best coffee in Guatemala. Barefoot Coffee has been partnered with Edwin for five years of great coffee. Vista Hermosa is our favorite lot every year and Barefoot Coffee and Coffee Collective in Denmark share this whole lot.

It's not to late to get into the mix for next month!  Check out our shop for a subscription.
